Goldstein Plumbing did a phenomenal job on our bathroom renovation. What began as a request for plumbing help turned into a full renovation after we learned they also manage complete builds. Kindof a strange experience. Their technician came and tagged our fireplace as unsafe, which… fine. It was a newly purchased condo and we were prepared to have it serviced as needed. Was happy enough with the initial service call and the technician seemed to know his stuff.Where things fell apart was everything after that. I emailed asking for a parts list and a quote so we could arrange repairs and pass the information to the previous owners. I didn’t hear back for two weeks. I followed up, and a supervisor replied saying they would take care of it. Another two weeks have gone by since then with no update and no replies to additional emails.At this point I don’t even have the basic information I need to move forward. I’ll likely need to pay another company for a second service call just to re-diagnose what their technician already identified.If I had known it was going to end up being such a headache I would’ve gone with another service provider in the first place. Disappointing doesn’t even begin to describe it.12/19 FOLLOW UP:The technician from Goldstein Plumbing concluded that the gas valve had failed, red-tagged the unit as unsafe, and indicated the repair would likely cost over $1,000.We later had a second licensed technician assess the fireplace, who identified the actual issue within about 30 minutes as a failed wall switch. Once replaced, the fireplace was fully operational and safe to use.Based on our experience, the initial diagnosis was incorrect and would have resulted in unnecessary and costly work. I’d recommend getting a second opinion before proceeding with major repairs.

Paid $750 in June 2025 for work and a new cartridge for my leaking bathtub faucet. The worker left with the faucet functioning in the exact opposite direction as when he started the job. Just completed an annual inspection of my combi boiler. Goldstein installed the new system last year and it’s been working well. The workmanship is noticeably superior to my previoius system. Anas is very knowledgeable and worked efficiently.

Had a new water tank delivered and installed in my apartment. The audacity to ask for a 15% tip on the iPad when I can hear the worker on his phone chatting to his buddies for 30 minutes is astounding. Not to mention that when they drained the old water tank, they left my bath tub with black residue all over. The water tank works well, but the service was undesirable

Goldstein Plumbing is very reliable. Our boiler was keep giving SERVICE signal and shut down in one day in the deep cold winter time. Goldstein came in a very urgent situation where our house has no hot water neither floor heat at all in the -5 degree. They did a quick diagnose and recommend us to change a new boiler. They find the new boiler fits into our requests and budget in only 2 days and installed the new one. After installation, the SERVICE signal was still coming up, but they did not just left, they kept coming to our house at least 5 times and did everything they can , it finally got fixed Their stuff are very professional and friendly. In disbelief that we would be left hanging like this. We hired this company to come repair a leakage but clearly the two boys didn’t know what they were doing, spent hours twisting and turning random pipes and it’s still leaking… we attempted to reach out for assistance and they just kind of told us to kick rocks.
I am extremely disappointed with the lack of accountability and poor service from this company. In November 2024, their technician installed a pump that has had ongoing issues from the very beginning. Just days after installation, we reported that the pump was not working properly. The only advice we received was to “shake the pump,” which was clearly a temporary and concerning workaround rather than a proper solution.Most recently, a pipe detached and caused sewage to spray throughout the area. The same technician came back and glued it on, then told us not to touch anything for three hours while it dried. He still requested payment, and when my landlord asked about warranty coverage, he rudely said there was none because he had not installed that specific pipe. He made no attempt to examine the larger issue with the pump.A few days later, the system started leaking again. I called the technician, who said head office would be in touch to schedule another appointment. I have not heard from anyone since.Out of frustration, we hired a different plumber. He discovered that a gasket had fallen off and was lodged in the pipe. This was the real issue behind the leaks and pump failure, and he was able to fix it properly.Despite being told we would be reimbursed for the latest house call, we have received nothing. The company now claims that because we only called a few times, there is nothing more they can do when it comes to warranty of their pipe or services. This completely ignores the fact that when we did reach out, we were given incomplete and ineffective solutions. I’m guessing their mission is to “quick fix” until the warranty is up and then leave you with bigger problems and wasted money.I’m requesting a formal response and reimbursement for my landlord, who has paid out of pocket for damage and repairs caused by this company’s negligence. Avoid this company if you want actual, lasting solutions and not dismissive technicians and temporary band-aids.
Consider yourself warned, do not use Goldstein’s Plumbing. It is a true wonder how they received so many good reviews. We hired Goldstein’s to do a very large re-plumbing job in our home after speaking with 3 other plumbers. Marius was very friendly, responsive to inquiries and adaptable to start dates and delays. It was a good beginning and with all of the 5 star reviews, we were initially impressed. However, the crew that began the re-plumb had no respect for the other workers in the home and actually undid some of the work without communicating, putting us back a few days in our remediation. I also overheard them talking amongst themselves arguing over whether the right or left side was for hot water. I am no plumber but even I know that.We added on a boiler inspection and was quickly told without much inspection that we needed a new one (many thousands of dollars). We asked another company to take a look and were told it does not need replacing, sounding like we were on our way to getting ripped off.Next, a simple shower install went poorly. The plumber actually threw in the garbage (found later and fitted properly by another handyman) a valve that was meant to prevent leaks. The reason we were doing the repair in the first place was due to a leak. The spout of the shower also didn’t work, it had to be repaired.The last straw was a leak found with the new plumbing under the bathroom sink. They had to come 2 more times because it continued to leak after the second attempt to properly fit it.Finally, they charged our credit card for the final bill without permission. The card was used to make an initial instalment with the agreement that it would not be charged without permission. Over $6000 was applied to the credit card without permission and warning. I am considering a complaint with Visa.We will never use Goldstein’s again and hope that this review may help people opt for other more professional and competent plumbers.

They over charge in their visit for fixing the furnace. The bill was 345 dollars for a visit where they did not have to change anything. The furnace stop working for the same reason in a few days.

Sadly, I’m still waiting for a return of my deposit for work that was continually rescheduled and then not completed. Don’t get caught up in the many high reviews. Be sure to take your time and review the numerous lowest ones as well.This company advised that a permit was not required and proceeded to do the job. Plumbers are supposed to know what work requires a permit.Later, after I applied and got the necessary approvals myself, they decided to charge me significantly more to finish the work. I wondered why one of the staff on their team kept advising me to cover my widows. Now I know that they knew they shouldn’t have been doing what they did. This is not a trustworthy company.They have since kept my 50% deposit for doing less than 10% of the actual job.They are lying here in their response as they did. It decline. I declined their higher and unreasonable costs and due to promises to schedule the job that continually got rescheduled.Don’t waste your time. Read the lower reviews for more clarity on how they function.

The inevitable happened. my drain to the sewer line plugged. I have two toilets One upstairs one downstairs, The water was backing up from the one downstairs, regardless of where the water was being run. I removed the toilet and tried snaking the drain myself. I could only go in 7 feet. After several attempts, I concluded this job was too big for me and needed help. It was Friday 3:30 PM very bad time to have a problem, anyways got a hold of Goldstein plumbing company and we made arrangements for someone to come out after 6 PM and they help me with my problem. He went through the main stack clean out using the Electric powered snake. The whole job took two hours and the blockage was freed.I’d like to thank Goldstein plumbing and the employees for doing such a great job. We’re back in business again.

My name is Ziba, I have bad experience with this plumber. They charge you high, like 260$ per hour . they do not provide cost of parts and they came 3 times trying to over charge. Their first visit was cut dry wall, then they leave without fixing. second time they come and do not bring parts,give you high bill and without completing they ask for money. I paid them 400 $ and they are so fraud that do not apply the pay toward bill. Fraud fraud. Why do not you provide parts bill? Who are you to charge over 250$ per hour when others charge 125-150$ per hour.

I was truly disappointed with my experience with this company. After being charged close to $600 for a “simple fix” with our sump, the same problem reoccurred 2 weeks later. I was told the sump was in excellent working order and the problem should not happen again. When I called them to book another service, I was told they would have to charge me again and that they do not guarantee their work. I expressed my disappointment with them and did not book their service. I did however email them asking for answers as to why I am experiencing the same problem they said they fixed so soon after the repair. I have not heard anything back.
They recently installed a BBQ box and firepit for a deck I was constructing in my backyard. It was done in two phases due to the deck being under construction.The first trades person that came installed the BBQ box in a location different than where we talked about, and doesn’t make much sense. I have to run a line across my sidewalk to connect, not the end of the world, but kind of silly when they were already digging a connection under the sidewalk.To be fair, they were waiting for parts so when it came time to install, I was out of town. If I had been there I might have been able to catch it and correct it earlier. They also left a bunch of garbage to clean up.2nd tradesperson that came to finalize hookup was great, through no fault of his own he had to come back a few times to get the relevant parts and finish the install. He made sure everything was working and that I was happy with what he did and he didn’t leave a mess.Its somewhere between a 3 and a 4 star for me. Both were friendly and price was reasonable, other than I got charged a 2nd time for the hookup a bit more than I was expecting.

Came on short noticed, friendly technician, fixed our furnace, that wasn’t “fixable”, and was super reasonably priced.
Cost was more than double the estimate provided ($2400-2800 estimated) with zero communication until invoice issued ($6300 invoiced on invoice before disputing). Despite repeated inquiries Goldstein failed to provide a reason as to why estimate was so off or why additional costs were not communicated before invoiced. To make matters worse we were charged for materials that were not used and took multiple phone calls to reconcile. Communication with Goldstein office staff was very disjointed. After several more phone calls, invoice was adjusted down to $4800.Overall workmanship seemed ok but would not work with this company again as they seem to have issues with how to estimate a job.

Two gentlemen attended to my property. One was slightly kurt, the other more friendly, although the “kurt” one became a little more friendly later on. Their visit was brief and cursory. He made a hole in the ceiling to see where the water was dripping from. But the only “flashlight” that he had was the light from his phone, which was weak. He was unable to see where the leak was coming from. My sense is that had he brought with him a proper and much brighter flashlight, he could have seen more. So I felt that he was inadequately prepared for this visit in that he did not bring appropriate lighting equipment. I was not impressed by the briefness of this visit and the cursory manner with which it was conducted.

I am beyond shocked and disappointed—these careless and unprofessional people put my family’s safety at serious risk. Do NOT use their services!Over a year ago, I hired them to replace my hot water tank, and everything initially seemed fine. However, yesterday, a Fortis technician came to inspect my system and discovered a major issue: the furnace exhaust had not been connected properly, causing carbon monoxide to leak into my crawl space and potentially into my home.Upon closer inspection, it became clear that when the plumber installed the hot water tank last year, they disconnected the furnace exhaust vent. Instead of reconnecting it properly, they simply placed the vent loosely on top of the furnace without proper alignment. As a result, exhaust fumes were partially pumped into my home throughout last winter.This level of negligence is unacceptable and could have had catastrophic consequences for my family. Avoid this company at all costs!Does anyone know how I can file a complaint to have that so-called Red Seal plumber’s license revoked?Update: got a call from someone who claimed to be from Goldstein (attached number from my phone), warn me that if I do not take down the review, his lawyer will sue me- if this is not from Goldstein, I will remove this updateWow, no wonder some business got all these good reviews.
Booked two days out for a gas range hookup, they came on time and got the job done quickly with no issues. Technician was friendly and careful not to scratch the floors, would highly recommend them.

I had a drainage emergency during the recent atmospheric storm, and I can’t thank this plumbing service enough. I called at 2 AM and, after struggling to get through to other companies advertising 24-hour service—most of which couldn’t even guarantee when they could send someone—I came across this business. They assured me they could send someone, and I was impressed by the positive reviews, so I went ahead with it.They sent a plumber named Manny out within two hours, and he arrived promptly and was incredibly pleasant, despite having worked around the clock. He quickly assessed the situation, drained water from both my house and the outside sump pump, and returned a few hours later to replace the faulty pump. The emergency rate was not cheap just like any other companies with the similar service would, but given the urgency of the situation and the quality of service, it was well worth it.I’m so glad I picked them and highly recommend this business for their quick response and excellent service during a stressful time!
Plumbers showed up hours late (worst rainfall in years – so that’s ok) but charged $500 ($450 call out fee on a weekend) just to throw some hydraulic cement on the floor. Understandably the foundation is most likely cracked but after charging that amount and saying “all the flooding will stop now” — it didn’t. Next day and I am still bucketing out water. Tough to give more stars when nothing was done.
I would highly recommend Goldstein Plumbing. I called them in a panic after finding my garage with 3 inches of water during the recent atmospheric river. They were very responsive and Manny arrived within 90 minutes and fixed the problem quickly, keeping the damage inside the house a minimum.
Toilets and drains backed up, called Anas in the morning , set up a time. He called the city when he got here, everything fixed within an hour. These guys are the best and never rip you off. Highly recommend, I’ve been using Goldstein for 4 years with my house and a rental

I called Goldstein to come and look at a leak and very bad plumbing done by another plumber – A2B Plumbing and heating Ltd in Burnaby BC. A2B ruined my bathroom. Goldstein were very understanding on the phone and came right way. They quickly diagosed all the terrible work done by A2B, and fixed the leak. They wrote a short report for me detailing all the damages caused by A2B so I will know what could fail in the future. This was extremely helpful to me. Goldstein sent “Super Mario” who is very knowledgable, hardworking, customer focused, and who takes pride in a job well done. Mario arrived at exactly the promised time and got to work the moment he arrived. Everything was done within a 2 hour service call window, and I was charged appropriately as quoted on the telephone. This was my first experience with Goldstein. I am very satisfied and will definitely call them again in the future. Overall my impression is one of professionalism, honesty, and excellent customer service.

I was accompanied by Mario and Mani to check out what caused my basement floor to partially flood. It was really easy to work with them and it didn’t take long to figure out what was causing the issue. Mani figured out that I can use upstairs water so no more having to go to the gym for showers, and Mario gave me a quote so they can come in and fix it right away tomorrow. Their help and expertise couldn’t have been better.Edit: Anas and Ray came in today to help get the Fill Valve and sump pump fixed up. They did an incredible and complete job in a short amount of time and now my Toilet is working better than ever and the sump pump is doing what it needs to do.

Daniel was super respectful, great communication, checked in about cost saving/repair options and fixed our furnace/thermostat issue that had been ongoing. I was very impressed with the service received from this co. I called to replace a gas hot water tank. They were able to service my request with in 2 day response. They arrived on time as they indicated. In addition, I saved over $200 in comparison to others for the same brand and a longer service warranty. They were very efficient in the installation process. I am thrilled with the help they gave me. I had one of their plumbers come and check out the hot water tank and plumbing in this apartment I wanted to purchase. He was very friendly and professional but mostly he was very honest with me. I’ve had other companies try to upsell me on things I didn’t need but they didn’t do that. I don’t usually write google reviews, but this one really deserved it. Amazing service, very professional, efficient, and reasonably price. Over all very satisfied with the service done to fix my water heater and would 100% recommend them and use them again if i needed to. Other companies charge way more for lazy, inefficient service, but this is not the case for these guys at all!
